Mobitop is a term coined by our group in an attempt to remove the confusion between mobile web application and native mobile applications connecting to a server.

We coined this term for our selves back in 2008 when we were working on a live mobile video streaming application which had a PHP web back-end, a native Symbian C++ mobile client and a mobile web application.

oddly enough we called our application MobiTopi.
